A video that has gone viral on social media shows an intense confrontation between two big cats and two dogs in Savarkundha, Gujarat. The video, recorded by a home security camera, shows two lions approaching a cowshed in Amreli, about 70 kilometres from the famous Gir National Park, when suddenly a dog appears from the other side. The two animals engage in a brief skirmish, which escalates when a second dog joins the fray. The situation escalates when another lion bangs hard on the door, while the big cats repeatedly hit it with their paws.

In a final show of strength, one of the lions manages to break down the door and force the dogs to momentarily retreat. However, instead of advancing, the lions abruptly retreat into some nearby bushes, apparently distracted by the movement in the distance.

After the encounter, one of the dogs cautiously steps out, accompanied by a guard carrying a flashlight. The guard inspects the area before closing the gate once more.

This is not the first time such clashes have occurred. Similar incidents have been recorded where dogs have clashed with lions or other wild animals such as hyenas and leopards in and around Gir National Park. Experts point out that dogs, though domesticated, instinctively defend their territory, just like lions, which are known for their strong territorial behaviour.
