The country is celebrating Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort and is now addressing the nation. PM Modi has hoisted the flag from the Red Fort for the 11th consecutive time. Guard of Honor and 21-gun salute were given in the ceremony. Flower shower was also done by helicopters of the Indian Air Force. This year’s theme is ‘Developed India @ 2047’. That is, it expresses the government’s vision for a developed India by 2047.

While addressing the country, PM Modi first remembered the great men. PM said, today is that auspicious moment when we remember those who sacrificed their lives for the country, those who devoted their lives for the freedom of the country, those who struggled throughout their lives and those who went to the gallows and shouted slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. We have been given the privilege of breathing the air of freedom. We express our respect for the great men.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, today is the day to pay tribute to the countless ‘Azadi ke Deewane’ who sacrificed for the country. This country is indebted to them. PM Modi said, ‘This year and for the last few years, our concerns are increasing due to natural disasters. Many people have lost their family members, property in natural disasters. The country has also suffered losses. Today I express my condolences. I assure all of them that this country stands with them in this hour of crisis.

About 6,000 special guests, including beneficiaries of various government schemes, have attended this program. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also reached the Red Fort to attend the country’s 78th Independence Day celebrations. Earlier, PM Modi reached Rajghat in the morning and paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
