India celebrates its 78th anniversary Independence Day Today, 15 August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag at the Red Fort for the 11th consecutive year. In his Independence Day address from the Red Fort, the Prime Minister lauded the 2024 Independence Day theme of ‘Viksit Bharat in 2047’ and asked 140 million Indian citizens to take a pledge to make India a developed nation and transform it into the third-largest economy in the world.
“With our determination, we are capable of making India a developed nation by 2047,” said Prime Minister Modi.
“People have made many suggestions for India to be developed by 2047, including making it a manufacturing hub and a seed capital,” he added.
