Even after court order, appointments to 13 percent posts in many MP government departments did not stop, HC issued notice to senior officials – mp news After court order did not stop appointments to 13 percent posts in many MP government departments, HC issued notice

Bhopal/Jabalpur: The MP High Court, while hearing a contempt petition in a case related to OBC reservation in government jobs, issued notices to several senior officials. This is about the continuation of appointments despite the order banning appointments to 13 per cent of the posts. This whole issue has now become a topic of discussion.

Anubhav Saini, a resident of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, filed this petition. Saini said in his petition that the Staff Selection Board had published an advertisement for Sub Engineer posts in Group 3 on August 1, 2022. Following this, on August 4, 2023, the High Court had issued an interim order to stay appointments in 13 per cent of the posts advertised under the provision of additional 13 per cent quota for OBC candidates.

The petitioner says

The petitioner claims that this High Court order applies to all departments of the state government. However, the Water Resources, Panchayat and PHE Department and the MP Housing Board issued appointment orders in 13 per cent of the posts which were suspended by the High Court. It has been argued in the petition that this is contempt of court. Additional Chief Secretaries Rajesh Rajoura and Malay Srivastava, PHE Secretary JP Narhari, Water Resources Department Chief Engineer Shirish Mishra and MPHB Managing Director Chandramouli Shukla have been made accused in this case.

Justice Vinay Saraf’s court seeks a response

After the preliminary hearing, a bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf issued notices to all the accused and sought their responses. The petitioner’s counsel Anshul Tiwari said the High Court, in an interim order dated August 4, 2023, had asked to stay appointments to 13 per cent additional posts advertised under the provision of 13 per cent more quota for OBC candidates.
