This level of protection includes the ability to withstand bullets from an AK-47 and protect its occupants from blasts equivalent to a 15kg TNT explosion.
Prior to this, PM Modi frequently used the Land Rover Range Rover HSE. This off-roader replaced the BMW 7 Series previously used by the Prime Minister. The Range Rover HSE was also fully armoured and featured a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, designed to withstand IED attacks and multiple gunshots, ensuring top-notch security for PM Modi.
The BMW 7 Series 760 Li High-Security Edition was another important vehicle in Prime Minister Modi’s convoy. Known for its advanced security features, this model was one of the safest cars in the world at the time. It included multiple layers of protection against ballistic threats and explosives, as well as an integrated oxygen supply for defense against chemical attacks. Additionally, it was equipped with a 6.0-liter turbocharged V12 engine, which provided quick escape capabilities.
The Mahindra Scorpio 4X4, though seemingly less extraordinary compared to the others, was remarkably modified to meet the high security standards during Prime Minister Modi’s first rallies. Despite its ordinary appearance, the modifications ensured that it could withstand multiple gun attacks and withstand several bomb blasts.
