He Car problem is a classic thought experiment in ethics that poses a seemingly impossible moral dilemma: would you rather kill five people or one? Its most famous version involves a runaway car heading down a road with five people strapped to it and a bystander who is able to swerve the car onto a side road with just one person in its place.
The moral dilemma of the problem is whether one person should be sacrificed to save a larger number, which forces us to confront the question of whether it is justifiable to intentionally cause harm to one individual to prevent greater harm to others.
