Will BJP contest assembly elections for MPs whose tickets were scrapped? These three names, including Ramesh Bidhuri, are in discussion: BJP may field Ramesh Bidhuri Parvesh Verma and Meenakshi Lekhi in Delhi Assembly elections ntc

The current term of the Delhi Assembly is till February 2025. Keeping this in mind, political parties have started preparations. While the ruling Aam Aadmi Party is doing away with a Padyatra, the Congress has started the work of strengthening its organisation and block unity. At the same time, for the BJP, which is facing exile from power in Delhi for over two decades, this election is a matter of life and death. In the last three Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has won all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi.

But he will not be able to repeat this performance in the assembly elections. This time too, the BJP is faced with the challenge of improving its performance in the Delhi Assembly elections. The party has asked former BJP MPs who did not get tickets for the assembly elections to prepare themselves. Sources said Ramesh Bidhuri, Parvesh Verma and Meenakshi Lekhi have been asked to be ready for the Delhi Assembly elections to be held in 2025. There is a high possibility that all three former MPs will contest the assembly elections as BJP candidates.

Nothing is yet decided regarding Gautam Gambhir, Hansraj Hans and Dr Harsh Vardhan. In the 2024 general elections, the BJP had fielded Union ministers who were Rajya Sabha MPs. Sources say the party may field former Delhi MPs to contest the assembly elections on the same lines. If party sources are to be believed, Ramesh Bidhuri may be fielded from Tughlakabad or Badarpur, Meenakshi Lekhi may be fielded from Kasturba Nagar or Greater Kailash and Parvesh Verma may be fielded from Matiala, Najafgarh or Mehrauli.

Let us tell you that Ramesh Bidhuri was elected as a Member of the Delhi Assembly from Tughlakabad three times between 2003 and 2013. In 2013, Parvesh Verma was elected as a Member of the Delhi Assembly from Mehrauli. In this Lok Sabha election, the BJP has fielded Praveen Khandelwal in place of Dr Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk, Bansuri Swaraj in place of Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, Kamaljit Sehrawat in place of Parvesh Verma from West Delhi, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri in place of Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi and Harsh Malhotra was given a ticket in place of Gautam Gambhir from East Delhi and Yogendra Chandolia was given a ticket in place of Hansraj Hans from North West Delhi. Only North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari was reprised his candidature.
