Pro Kabaddi franchises spent Rs 33.7 crore during two-day player auction

The 12 Pro Kabaddi League (street vendors) Franchises spent Rs 33.7 crore on the top 20 most sought-after Kabaddi players during the Season 11 player auction. Franchises spent Rs 17.7 crore on the first day of the auction on August 15, followed by Rs 16 crore the next day.

Bengal Warriorz spent Rs 4.90 crore during the auction, followed by Bengaluru Bulls (Rs 4.94 crore), Dabang Delhi KC (Rs 4.12 crore), Gujarat Giants (Rs 4.93 crore), Haryana Steelers (Rs 4 .99 crore), Jaipur Pink Panthers (Rs 4.86 crore), Patna Pirates (Rs 4.64 crore), Puneri Paltan (Rs 4.67 crore), Tamil Thalaivas (Rs 4.96 crore), Telugu Titans (Rs 4.68 crore), U Mumba (Rs 4.91 crore) and UP Yoddhas (Rs 4.87 crore).

In the category, Tamil Thalaivas and Haryana Steelers acquired Sachin and Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh for over Rs 2 crore, making Chiyaneh the first international player to earn more than Rs 2 crore in consecutive years.

The Season 11 player auction saw eight crorepatis, six more surpassing Rs 1 crore, with Gujarat Giants, Telugu Titans and Bengal Warriorz selecting Category A players Guman Singh, Pawan Sehrawat and Maninder Singh.

Category B players like Bharat and Ajinkya Pawar were picked by UP Yoddhas and Bengaluru Bulls for Rs 1.30 crore and Rs 1,107 crore respectively.

Ajith V Kumar became the most expensive Category C player at this year’s Player Auction after Puneri Paltan acquired him for Rs 66 lakh; meanwhile, Jai Bhagwan was bought by Bengaluru Bulls for Rs 63 lakh. Arjun Rathi emerged as the most expensive Category D player after Bengal Warriorz acquired him for Rs 41 lakh. Also, Mohd. Amaan found a place in the Puneri Paltan team for Rs 16.2 lakh, and Stuwart Singh was bought for Rs 14.2 lakh by U Mumba.
