Now the Delhi High Court has issued an important order regarding ‘Taarak Mehta’. The makers of the show, Neela Film Productions Private Limited, said that the title, characters, faces, gestures, dialogues and other things of the show are now protected under the law.

A few months ago, the makers of the show alleged that many websites were misusing the characters, name and image of ‘Taarak Mehta’. Many social media accounts, websites and YouTube channels have been identified illegally using the characters from the show. Obscene content related to animations, deepfakes, photographs and AI-generated characters is being spread.
Recognizing the gravity of the matter, Justice Mini Pushkarna gave the verdict in favour of the creators. The decision gives 48 hours to remove all objectionable videos from YouTube. If the objectionable content is not removed within 48 hours, that link will be blocked from the social media platform. Strict action may also be taken for this.
Asit Modi expressed happiness
‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ producer Asit Modi has expressed his happiness over the court’s decision. He said, “We are grateful to the Delhi High Court for recognising the importance of protecting our property. The court order sends a strong message. As a producer, I have always believed that the story of a show can have an impact on people’s lives. The order not only protected us but also boosted the morale of everyone involved in the show.”
The creators also said the court order gives them confidence that “our creativity will be respected and protected.”
