Information about radioactive substance leak at Amausi airport, panic

Lucknow: In UP (UP News) There was a stir at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport on Saturday morning. This situation arose due to a beeping noise during the inspection of a package. When the package was examined, it was found to contain some suspicious item and could not be loaded. Meanwhile, a rumour spread that the employees checking the package had lost consciousness. SDRF and NDRF teams reached the spot. It is stated that everything turned out normal in the investigation.

The container was being examined at the cargo terminal.

At Lucknow Airport (Amausi Airport), scanning of the side containers of the cargo terminal was being carried out. This container was to remain on the flight from Lucknow to Guwahati. During the inspection, a beeping sound was suddenly heard from the scanning device while examining a package. Due to this, the scanning staff feared that there might be a suspicious object. After informing the authorities, the package was opened and it was found to contain radioactive anti-cancer drugs. Due to this, a beeping sound was heard during the investigation. There were also rumours that the employees fainted while opening the package. But the airport administration has denied any such incident. However, the employees have been isolated.

No damage of any kind: Airport management

The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport administration says that the alarm was raised due to radioactive material. Following this, the NDRF was informed about this. The investigation revealed that this would not cause any loss of life in any way. The airport operations are continuing fully. The radioactive medicine is completely safe for transportation and the radiation it emits is within the permissible limits.

There were drugs to treat cancer.

SDRF commander Mithlesh Kumar Tiwari says that he received the information around 9.50 am. SDRF, NDRF, local police and fire brigade reached the spot. During the investigation, no leakage of any kind was found. As usual, medicines used in cancer treatment were sent. In which fluoride is used. There has been no harm to anyone of any kind. Radiation officer Soumya Srivastava says that we have received information about radioactive substances. When the spot was inspected, nothing of the sort was found. Medicines used in cancer treatment contain radiation.
