Primary schools have been closed for four days for the police recruitment exam. Almost all teachers in more than two hundred mixed and primary schools in the district have been forced to sit this exam. Teachers say that in such a situation, education and the school feeding system will come to a standstill. Schools will not be able to open without teachers.
Police recruitment exams will be held on August 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 at 80 centres in the district. In this regard, the maximum number of teachers have been pressed into service in three of the eight blocks. In many schools, one teacher has been left to manage the situation, while in many schools, no teachers are left. Teachers from other blocks are also on duty. Sanat Kumar Singh, senior leader of the Uttar Pradesh Primary Teachers Association, said that in this regard, a memorandum has been given to ADM City and BSA demanding to impose school-wise duties so that schools can function smoothly.
Teacher leaders said that in addition to this, teachers have been assigned duties in some centres up to 40 kilometres away. Teachers will have to leave early in the morning to conduct the exam in two shifts, starting at 7am and ending at 5pm. Female teachers will be the ones who will face the most problems in this regard. They will face many problems in reaching and returning to the centre. In these five days, there will be many basic schools in the district where children will be dependent on cooks and teachers, so the locks of many schools will not be opened.
I have not yet received any fees for the February service.
Teacher leaders said that a police recruitment exam was also held in February for which teachers have not yet received their fees. A memorandum was also issued earlier to impose obligations on other departments in the August exam, but no hearing was held on the matter.
