7 new cases of Zika virus in Pune

Zika virus: Seven new cases of Zika virus have been reported in Pune, Maharashtra. The health officer of Pune Municipal Corporation said that following the arrival of new cases, the number of infected people has increased to 73. The PMC official said that 26 pregnant women were also among the infected people. The infected people are being closely monitored. However, the Zika virus was not the cause of their death, because all of them were suffering from many diseases. The age of all those infected was over 70 years. Apart from this, all the patients suffered from heart problems and liver diseases. The Zika virus is transmitted through the bite of a special type of mosquito.

Zika virus is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that is primarily transmitted by the bite of the Aedes mosquito. This disease was first identified in Uganda, Africa in 1947. The effect of Zika virus is now also visible in India. The greatest effect of Zika virus is seen in pregnant women.

Symptoms of Zika virus
The symptoms of Zika virus are similar to those of common viral infections. In this, there is first a high fever. After this, there are pains all over the body including the head, fatigue, rashes on the body, pain in the eyes, low platelet levels, stomach pain, vomiting, etc. To avoid this, use mosquito nets, mosquito repellent creams, and wear long-sleeved clothing while sleeping at night.
