Malayalam actor Mohanlal hospitalized for breathing problems

MohanlalPopular Malaysian actor Mohanlal has been hospitalised after recently returning from Gujarat where he was shooting for his upcoming film L2: Empuraan. Popular writer and film columnist of the South film industry Sreedhar Pillai confirmed the news of Mohanlal being admitted to the hospital on his X-handle. He posted a medical bulletin from Amrita Vishwa Vidhyapeetham Hospital in Kochi on his post. ”Wishing @Mohanlal a speedy recovery!” he wrote along with the medical bulletin.

According to the bulletin, the actor was admitted to hospital on August 16 after complaining of high fever, difficulty breathing and generalized myalgia. He is suspected of suffering from a viral respiratory infection. He is also advised to take medication with five days’ rest and avoid crowded places.

On the labor front

Mohanlal was seen in a Malayalam epic action drama film titled Malaikottai Vaaliban, which released in January this year. Apart from Mohanlal, the film also featured Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Danish Sait and Katha Nandi among others. The Malayalam star also has Barroz, Kannappa and L2: Empuraan in the pipeline.

His upcoming film Barroz has already got a new release date. This is not the first time the film’s release date has been changed as it was first announced in 2019 and has been delayed several times. The Malayalam-language film was released in 2021 and is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure by Jijo Punnoose.

Barroz is backed by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas. Santosh Sivan is the cinematographer, while the music is composed by Lydian Nadhaswaran and Mark Kilian.
