On Friday, High Court judges Ajay Gadkari and Neela Gokhale admitted a letter from Aparna Soni into the court registry. In the letter, they stated their intention to withdraw the petition citing concerns that its continuance could affect their decision to seek legal recourse in Uttar Pradesh.
Aparna got permission
The names of two petitioners are also mentioned in Aparna Soni’s letter. Their lawyer said that the legal documents of all three had been returned and requested to withdraw the petition for lack of consistency. Based on these things, the court allowed Aparna Soni to withdraw the petition. Earlier, a High Court bench had granted Aparna Soni and her family two weeks’ anticipatory transit bail. They want to approach a Lucknow court seeking acquittal and protection from arrest in the case.
