Sawan Purnima will start on 19th August at 03.04 pm. Purnima Tithi will end on the night of 19th August at 11.55 pm. In such a situation, Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on Monday, 19th August on the basis of Udaya Tithi.
From when to when will Bhadra remain on Raksha Bandhan? (Raksha Bandhan Bhadra Kaal Timing)
Bhadra Kaal on Raksha Bandhan will be from 02.21 pm to 01.30 pm on 19th August. Bhadra will be tail from 09.51 am to 10.53 am on Raksha Bandhan. Then Bhadra will be face from 10.53 to 12.37 pm. Bhadra Kaal will end at 01.30 pm. However, this Bhadra Kaal will not have any effect on Raksha Bandhan. Actually, due to the Moon being in Capricorn, Bhadra will reside in the netherworld. This time on Raksha Bandhan, there will be two auspicious times to tie a Rakhi to your brother. The first time will be in the afternoon and the second time will be in the evening. You can tie a Rakhi on your brother’s wrist in any of these auspicious times.
First Muhurta- The first auspicious time to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan will be from 01.46 pm to 04.19 pm. That means you will get a full time of 2 hours and 33 minutes to tie the Rakhi.
Second auspicious time- Apart from this, you can also tie a rakhi on your brother’s wrist during Pradosh Kaal in the evening. Pradosh Kaal will be from 06.56 pm to 09.07 pm on this day.
How to celebrate Raksha Bandhan? (Raksha Bandhan Kaise manayein)
On the day of Rakshabandhan, after taking a bath in the morning, make your brother sit on a stool. Place a cloth or handkerchief on his head. Keep in mind that while tying the rakhi, the brother’s face should be towards the east and the sister’s face should be towards the west. To tie the rakhi, first apply a tilak of roli-chandan and rice on your brother’s forehead. After this, do aarti of your brother with a ghee lamp. Tradition and significance of Rakshabandhan
The tradition of celebrating Raksha Bandhan in India is centuries old. According to a legend, when King Bali took a promise from Lord Vishnu and kept him with him in the netherworld, then Mother Lakshmi tied a Rakhi on the wrist of Raksha King Bali and asked him to bring Lord Vishnu back home.
According to the story related to Mahabharata, once Draupadi tore a piece of cloth from her dress and tied it on Krishna’s wrist to heal his injury. Lord Shri Krishna was so happy and impressed by this that he made Draupadi his sister and took the responsibility of protecting her. It is said that since then the tradition of celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan has been going on.
