Kate Middleton’s 4 best fashion moments that prove the Princess of Wales was, is and will always be an icon

After Kate Middleton entered the royal family, it was pretty clear that she would put fashion lovers to shame with her class and elegant outfits. And that’s exactly what she did. With plenty of fashion moments that laid bare her style, her timeless and elegant taste and affinity for monochromatic ensembles made her an exemplary member of the fashion world. Simply put, Kate has had a huge influence on fashion, leading fans and celebrities to recreate the styles she wears.

Here’s a rundown of all the times the Princess of Wales wowed us all with her best style moments to date.

Kate’s purple midi dress for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships

Princess of Wales Kate Middleton attended the Wimbledon Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on July 14 this year. During the unusual outing, the former Duchess of Cambridge opted for a custom Safiyaa dress in royal purple. The event-appropriate outfit came with a ruched bodice and a slightly flared skirt. A mid-length hem, A-line midi cut, and structured sleeves crafted from heavy crepe really enhanced her charm.

To complete her Wimbledon-worthy look, Kate elevated her look with Sabine hoop earrings from British jewellers By Pariah. Considering that the elegant dress came with a slightly altered neckline from the original, she ditched the necklace and carried a nude-hued boxy bag instead.

To complete her look, she wore strappy heels by Camilla Elphick and her hair was styled in a relaxed side part. Her makeup was kept minimal so as not to overpower the look.

As she arrived at Christmas Day mass at Sandringham Church, Kate Middleton proved that monochrome is always a hit. The highlight of her outfit? The impeccably cut Klein blue coat with structured shoulders and a fitted silhouette. To complete the look, the Princess of Wales wore a high-necked knitted top underneath the coat and completed the look with a pair of navy suede chunky-heeled boots. Adept at matching just one shade, Kate nailed the look like a pro and we’re taking notes.

Keeping the holiday festivities in mind, she adorned her hair with a headpiece. Note: It’s not your average hair accessory, and comes with two arrow-shaped feathers crossed over a central bow. When styling her hair, she pulled it back into a half-updo to show off her sapphire and diamond earrings. With a little dose of glamour with coral blush, subtle contours and highlights, and a nude lip shade, she nailed the holiday look.

Kate’s appearance at Royal Carols: Together at Christmas at Westminster Abbey was equally notable, as she dressed in her quintessential all-white ensemble, but with a twist. While her style is usually marked by her affinity for formal, mid-hemline dresses, last year she did a 180 and relied primarily on monochromatic outfits. For her Royal Carols look, she went for a head-to-toe ivory look. This included a long white coat by Chris Kerr over a simple crewneck sweater tucked into matching high-rise wide-leg pants accented with gold double buttons by Holland Cooper.

Her accessory game was also on point. To add a touch of luxury, Kate carried a small Mosaic bag by Scottish brand Strathberry priced at almost 51,000 rupees (£475). As for her jewellery, the Princess of Wales wore a pair of earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels, two of them in white. Her footwear was carefully chosen to perfect her look as she stepped out in beige suede stilettos. Letting her wavy locks fall freely, she wowed us all with her stunning presence.

Kate surprised us all once again when she joined her husband, Prince William, and her in-laws, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, for a ceremony at the Horse Guards Parade Ground in London. For the occasion, she decided to make a style statement in a Catherine Walker cape dress made from a bright red fabric. The captivating look featured a cape coat embellished with a large bow at the neckline and concealed a shorter, matching red dress underneath.

With a pair of crimson suede heels by Gianvito Rossi and a wide-brimmed red hat to seal the look, she demonstrated her stylistic finesse. Not forgetting her rectangular red shoulder bag with a small bow that she chose from the Miu Miu brand. To complete the sparkle needed for the event, she wore her Princess Diana sapphire and diamond engagement ring and a matching pair of dangling earrings.
