Rourkela. Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) Director-in-charge Atanu Bhowmik addressed the contract service providers of the plant at the ‘Coordination’ programme organised at the Indo German Club. As partners in progress, we have to work in harmony and achieve win-win for both sides. A win-win system needs to be created. In his address, Shri Bhowmik said that if RSP is creating history today by producing 13,000 tonnes of hot metal per day, then the contract service providers also have every reason to take credit and be proud of this achievement. He also stressed on mutual understanding and removing bottlenecks in the processes for smoother and more transparent operations and transactions. He said that to strengthen our symbiotic relationship, one needs to think out of the box and come up with something innovative. The Director-in-charge also stressed on making the steel mill a loss-free place with strict adherence to safety procedures.

The training of subcontracted workers according to the plant requirements was discussed.

Executive Director (Project HR & Additional Charges) Tarun Mishra emphasised on meticulous verification and error-free scope of work, which will help both parties during execution of work. He also spoke about training of contract workers as per plant requirements. In his address, Executive Director (Mines) Alok Verma spoke about the vast scope of contract work at Odisha Group of Mines. Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) AK Behuria spoke about the challenging steel market and the issues faced by RSP on the financial side, focusing on the three principles of cooperation, collaboration and co-existence. Chief General Manager in-charge (Steel & Acting Executive Director Works) RK Patra elaborated on the objective of building a mutually beneficial relationship, while Chief General Manager (Material Management & Executive Director Additional Charges, Material Management) Anil Kumar on Gem Portal Highlights. the importance of registration, which results in a more comprehensive and timely payment.

Dr. RR Mohanty, Medical Director (Medical and Health Services), explained the measures taken by RSP to take care of the health needs of the contract workers. General Manager (HR-CLC & Projects) GR Dash gave a detailed presentation on the performance of RSP last year, targets for this year and the current status of RSP. Under the leadership of RCA President Jaideep Mishra and General Secretary Sajal Banerjee, the members made presentations on various issues faced by them during the execution of the contract and work. An open discussion was held on various important issues like bill settlement, contract estimation, contract execution, finance and safety, contract clauses, etc. GR Dash proposed the vote of thanks while Senior Manager (Human Resources) Sangeeta Maria Sindoor moderated the stage. Cross-functional teams of officers and functionaries of RSP and members of Rourkela Contractors Association were present on the occasion.
