Political activity has increased in Sultanpur district of UP. The reason for this is the by-election for the Dhanpatganj block pramukh. In this election, the reputation of the strongman brothers Sonu Singh and Monu Singh is at stake. At the same time, the local leadership of BJP has a chance to take revenge for the Lok Sabha defeat. Because, the Sonu-Monu duo is considered to have played an important role in defeating Maneka Gandhi in the Lok Sabha elections. Both the brothers have recently joined the SP. Till some time ago, they were with the BJP.
Let us tell you that in the pramukh election of Dhanpatganj block, the family or close ones of former MLA Chandrabhadra Singh (Sonu Singh) and former block pramukh Yashbhadra Singh (Monu) have been dominating for a long time. But in this election, BJP is also competing with full force. Voting is to be held here on August 22. The nomination process is going on.
Samajwadi Party has declared Sonu-Monu’s mother Usha Singh as its candidate. BJP has made the contest exciting by making Parvati Saroj its candidate. However, both the candidates have filed their nominations and are making every possible effort to get the voters to vote in their favour.
SP candidate Usha Singh’s son and former chief Monu Singh has accused the district administration of conducting the nomination and election process under pressure. However, he is confident of his victory. Meanwhile, BJP candidate Parvati Saroj, while talking to the media, has appealed to the voters to help and support her. At present, the election atmosphere has become interesting due to BJP and SP coming face to face in this by-election for Dhanpatganj Block Pramukh.
It is known that before this Yashbhadra Singh alias Monu was the block pramukh. But in a case, the MP-MLA court sentenced him to two years of imprisonment, after which he was removed from the post of block pramukh. After this, the Panchayati Raj Department again issued a notification here and now the election process is being conducted by the Election Commission.
To ensure that Sonu-Monu family’s dominance over the Block Pramukh chair remains intact, Samajwadi Party has declared their mother Usha Singh as its candidate and fielded her in the election. Whereas, BJP has expressed its trust in Parvati Saroj. Both the candidates are claiming their victory.
In 1984, Sonu-Monu’s Baba Sharda Singh was elected as the Pramukh for the first time in Dhanpatganj block. Since then, only Sonu-Monu’s family or their close ones have dominated the Pramukh post here. Except for one or two times, no one has dared to file a nomination against the Sonu-Monu family. But this time BJP has made the election very interesting by fielding Parvati Saroj from here.
