A national strike Bharat Bandh The protest will reportedly be held tomorrow, August 21. It will be in response to the Supreme Court’s latest judgement on SC/ST reservation. The protest has been called by the Bachao Sangharsh Reservation Samiti. Reports claim that the Bachao Sangharsh Reservation Samiti has urged all business organisations to keep the markets closed during the day-long protest.

Students should note that schools, colleges and other educational institutions will NOT be closed tomorrow. As of now, there is no announcement regarding the closure of government offices, banks, schools, colleges, coaching centres and petrol stations. However, students and parents are advised to contact the respective schools for the latest updates as some schools may decide to switch to online classes for a day.

Hyderabad Schools closed Tomorrow

Hyderabad schools declared a holiday today and tomorrow due to heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms. As a precautionary measure, many schools have decided to suspend classes till tomorrow, August 21. Schools were closed for Diwali till Raksha Bandhan and did not open today either. Many parents received a message from the school that today was a holiday to ensure the safety of children.

Mizoram schools are closed today

Schools in Aizawl and Kolasib districts of Mizoram were closed today. The Aizawl and Kolasib district administration issued separate public notices today announcing that all schools will remain closed on Tuesday to ensure safety of children in the face of a possible disaster. Incessant rains have lashed Aizawl and other parts of the state since Monday, triggering minor landslides at several places.
