The Union Education Minister has condemned the state government’s “insensitive” attitude in the murder case of a young woman doctor.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday condemned the Bengal government’s alleged “callous attitude” towards the rape and murder case of a junior doctor and said that after this heinous crime, there is an “atmosphere of fear” among children in the country. “It has become widespread.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, Pradhan said the state and central governments should follow the Supreme Court’s directions on the issue. He said: But the world has witnessed the state government’s insensitivity and “careless” attitude and its failed attempt to hide the evidence.
Shri Pradhan said that the Supreme Court has raised fundamental issues while advocating strict action to be taken regarding this incident in Bengal. He said that it is shocking that the democratically elected state government, which came to power with the slogan of ‘Maa Mati Manush’, has turned a deaf ear to the plea for justice of its people.
Referring to Sanjay Rai, the civic volunteer arrested in the case, Pradhan said, He was recruited as a civic volunteer by the Kolkata Police and continued in his service despite reports about his past misdeeds. Condemning this incident, he said, I condemn this incident that occurred in Bengal. I express my deepest condolences to the family (of the victim).
