Rishabh Pant’s ‘Thalaiva’ post sparks MS Dhoni-CSK links, fans speculate big move ahead of IPL 2025

After former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting parted ways with Capitals of DelhiThere has been a lot of speculation about who will lead the IPL franchise in the upcoming edition of the IPL. The Delhi-based franchise has been the least successful considering the strong lineups it has assembled over the years. During the 2020 edition of the IPL, Delhi Capitals finished as runners-up, which is their best performance till date.

Alongside the head coach, there have been rumours surrounding the future of his captain. RISHABH PANTS who made his comeback in IPL 2024 after being off for over a year recovering from injuries he sustained due to a car accident.

According to a report, the Delhi-based franchise is not happy with Pant’s growth as a captain even though his record as a player has been more satisfactory. So far, the left-handed batsman has amassed 3284 runs in 111 matches and it is also the highest run-scorer for Delhi Capitals. Pant has worn the Delhi jersey in a total of eight seasons in the cash-rich league.

Amidst all the speculations, Pant has posted a post on his Instagram account. Many fans believe that the post is an indication that Pant will be shifting his base to the Chennai Super Kings. Pant posted a collage of himself alongside legendary actor Rajinikanth where the duo was seated identically. Pant captioned the post as ‘Thalaiva’.

According to a report, Delhi Capitals director of cricket Sourav Ganguly wants Pant to continue serving the franchise as captain.
