The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) will conduct the fresh test for the Constable Recruitment Examination 2024 from August 23. Nearly 48 lakh aspirants will compete for 60,244 posts.
The exam was scheduled to take place in February 2024 but was cancelled due to a document leak.
UP Police Constable Exam Date
The selection exam will be held from August 23-25 and August 30-31 in two shifts. Each exam day will have two shifts with around 500,000 candidates appearing in each shift, at 1,174 exam centres in 67 districts.
According to a notice issued by the UPPRPB board, the exam dates have been postponed due to Janmashtami, on August 26, which is a national holiday.
Eligible candidates will be selected for the post through a written exam, physical test, document verification and medical examination. Those who meet the requirements for the written exam will be invited for a further selection process.
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has also arranged bus services for the candidates appearing for the exam. Those who wish to avail the service will have to Present your admission cards to the bus driver.
Candidates travelling by bus will also be required to download two additional copies of their admit card. One copy of the card must be presented to the bus driver for travel to the examination centre district and the other copy for travel to their district after the examination.
Exam cancelled due to paper leak
The exam was earlier held on February 17 and 18 but was cancelled due to document leaks. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered the cancellation of the exam to ensure that a fresh 2024 police recruitment exam would be held within six months in a transparent manner.
In a post about ‘X’, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said“There can be no compromise on the sanctity of examinations. Those who play with the hard work of youngsters will not be spared under any circumstances. The strictest measures will be taken against such unruly elements.”
More than 480,000 candidates, including nearly 160,000 women, appeared for the recruitment exam held in February. The exam was held at 2,835 centres across 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
