What Piyush Chawla said
According to Chawla, T20 is all about momentum and since MI failed to deliver on that, they kept losing matches.
“I won’t say anything went wrong. T20 is all about having momentum, and we didn’t have that. Sometimes that happens. KKR had momentum, but we didn’t have it. It’s not that one particular player was at fault. When you don’t have that momentum, things change here and there. That’s why I think we kind of lost our way. On paper, we were one of the strongest teams. Looking at it like that, you’d wonder how this team got to the 10th spot.” Chawla said in an interview with YouTube channel Two Sloggers.

Chawla believes that luck played a major role in MI’s downfall in LPI 2024.
“It wasn’t any particular player’s fault. Luck was also two or three feet away from us. Those shots, which would have been six on any given day, went into the hands of the fielder. When we bowled, those half-chances became six.” Chawla explained.
MI last won a LPI title in 2021. In the last three seasons, they have not even managed to reach the playoffs.
In 2025, MI will look to get back to winning ways.
