A man was shocked to discover a five-foot cobra inside his washing machine in Rajasthan‘s QuotaThe incident occurred when Shambudayal, a resident of Swami Vivekanand Nagar, went to wash clothes. Upon opening the lid of the machine, he was horrified to find a snake coiled inside. The sudden movement of the snake frightened Shambudayal, prompting him to switch off the machine. Shambudayal quickly contacted Sharma, who reached the spot and successfully captured the reptile.
“The snake, which was more than one and a half metres long, was carefully removed from the washing machine. After rescuing it, I released it in the Ladpura forest, away from residential areas,” said Govind Sharma, the local snake catcher.
Sharma explained that snakes often enter human-inhabited areas during the monsoon season in search of prey. “The presence of snakes in houses, shops and even hospitals has become increasingly common in Kota,” Sharma added.

The incident came just days after a 2.7-metre king cobra was discovered in the bedroom of a house in Someshwara in Shimoga district of Karnataka. The snake was captured and released into its natural habitat. The video of the cobra’s rescue went viral on social media. The snake was discovered after a family member spotted its tail. On closer inspection, the snake started hissing.
