Janmashtami 2024: This year the festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated on 26th and 27th August. This day is the birthday of Lord Krishna and is also known as Gokulashtami. On this day, all the devotees of Krishna immerse themselves in the devotion of Lord Krishna and celebrate his birthday with all pomp and show. On this day, Dahihandi breaks and people are seen immersed in the devotion of Krishna and Radha at the Krishna temple. People wait for this auspicious day throughout the year, so they completely dedicate this day to their Bal-Gopal. At various places, people prepare their favourite dishes to offer to Bal Gopal. At some places, as many as fifty-six offerings are made. In this article, we will tell you the recipe for Jaggery Kheer. Which is easily made with very few ingredients. You can prepare this as a sweet dish on Janmashtami.

Material

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 8 to 10 chopped almonds
  • 8 to 10 cashews, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Half a cup or 80 grams of rice soaked in water for 2 hours
  • Three quarters of a cup or 150 grams of brown sugar

how to do

  • First, bring 1 liter of milk to a boil.
  • Now add the rice soaked for 2 hours in boiling milk.
  • Cook the rice in milk until it softens, during this time continue stirring the milk from time to time so that the milk does not stay at the bottom of the container.
  • Now pour half a cup of water in another vessel, add the brown sugar and melt the brown sugar.
  • When the rice pudding is fully cooked add the chopped almonds, chopped cashews and cardamom powder and mix.
  • Now turn off the gas and let the kheer cool for some time.
  • When the kheer cools down, add melted jaggery to it after filtering it with the help of a strainer and mix well.
  • Do not add jaggery to hot kheer as it may curdle the milk.
  • Now scoop the kheer into bowls and serve with some dry fruits.
