New units will be built on three lakh square feet in Muzaffarpur and construction will be completed by September.

BIADA: The BIADA industrial area located at Bela in Muzaffarpur is rapidly moving towards a textile hub. The situation is that new units are coming online in all the sheds already constructed. Currently, no shed is available for allotment. However, the work of constructing sheds for new units under the Plug and Play scheme will be completed soon.

BIADA Managing Director Ravi Ranjan Prasad said that currently, due to demand, construction work of 5 new sheds is going on in the industrial area. Once all the sheds are ready, there will be about 3 lakh square feet of space available for allotment. According to information, one shed will have an area of ​​about 60 thousand square feet. According to a BIADA official, the construction of the shed will be completed by next month i.e. in September. Once the construction is completed, the process of allotment reservation will be initiated.

Proposals came from different parts of the country.

The Business Connect programme was organised in Patna in the month of July. In which more than two dozen investors from different parts of the country visited the Muzaffarpur Biada Industrial Zone. The investors were quite impressed to see that the bags and textile cluster was already functioning here. Since then, around half a dozen textile companies have submitted proposals for setting up units. Also, representatives of the concerned company came and roamed around the place even after the programme. New units are expected to be opened after the construction of the shed is completed.

So far, production is taking place in a dozen warehouses.

Due to the inclination of businesses and better response to products, the scope of the shed is rapidly expanding here thanks to the Plug and Play scheme of the Department of Industries. So far, a dozen sheds in the Bela industrial zone are operating units ranging from bags to garments. In which products of local and branded companies are prepared and exported from within the country to abroad. As a historical fact, in the last one year, large textile companies have set up units here. At the same time, it has also been proposed to occupy more space for better functioning.
