Badlapur incident: On the question asked about the Badlapur incident, Shiv Sena MP (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said, We had come here to discuss seat sharing but then we thought that we will not discuss seat sharing and instead discuss the Badlapur incident. This we will discuss the law and order situation in the state. The people of Maharashtra are angry and an FIR has been registered against the protesters. We have decided that on August 24, Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) will call for Maharashtra bandh over the Badlapur incident.

Sanjay Raut attacks Eknath Shinde government

People have come out on the streets to demand justice for the rape victim and for the safety of women. But the government has started arresting him. The Chief Minister said that the protest was politically motivated as the protesters were not local residents. The local residents who participated in the protests can be counted on fingers. He said that state minister Girish Mahajan has accepted all the demands of the protesters but is not yet ready to budge.

Two students were sexually assaulted at school

Mass protests broke out in Badlapur city after angry parents, local residents and others blocked railway tracks and vandalised the school where two female students were sexually assaulted by an attendant last week. At least 25 policemen, including railway police, were injured in stone-pelting incidents during protests at Badlapur railway station and other places in the city. Police arrested at least 72 people and registered four FIRs in connection with the violence.

SIT to investigate Badlapur case

Following the protests, the Maharashtra government announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by senior IPS officer Aarti Singh to investigate the incident.
