Railways plans to create vacancies on a regular basis every year: GM, East Central Railway

Stating that the railways plans to fill up vacancies on a regular basis every year, East Central Railway General Manager Anil Kumar Khandelwal said the employment process for 1.5 lakh posts was completed last year.

“The railways has started a fresh recruitment process. The company will create vacancies every year on a regular basis. Railway infrastructure and operations are increasing every year. Vacancies will be filled annually in multiple categories. Recruitment of 5,696 ALPs (Assistant Locomotive Pilots) has already started in this direction from January 20. Applicants will be given opportunities every year to participate in the recruitment process,” Khandelwal said.

He also said that for some reason, if they are not successful in the current year, they can re-apply next year.

“Earlier, the railways used to conduct the selection process once in three to four years. Now, the railways call for vacancies every year and conduct the selection process. The first notification for 5,696 loco pilots was already issued on January 20. Now, the candidates will get more opportunities in the railways,” he added.
