In the police entrance exam, candidates will be given a chance to travel free of charge in all categories of buses of the Transport Corporation. Following instructions from the government, the highway marshals have finalised the arrangements for this. According to the officials, apart from having additional buses for the journey, the travel on various routes will also be increased. 200 buses have also been reserved. To travel free of charge in the buses, candidates will have to show their admit card to the conductor.

According to the road authorities, this service will start from 12 midnight on August 21 and will continue till August 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26. Later, in the second phase, this service will start from 12 noon on August 28 and will continue till September 1. During the journey, the candidates will have to produce the photocopy of the admit card to the conductor on the way there and back. Roadways Regional Manager MK Trivedi said that after meeting the MRAs of all the nine depots, instructions have been given to remain on alert mode during this drive. Special attention should be paid to ensure that no crowd accumulates at the bus stand.

On Wednesday, following the government’s instructions regarding the police recruitment examination, officers met the officials of the private bus and taxi union at the RTO office in Transport Nagar Nagar and gave instructions. RTO Rajesh Maurya said that Vikram, autos, rickshaws etc. should be provided on a large scale at all examination centres including bus stands and railway stations in the city so that candidates do not have to roam around. Only a reasonable fare should be charged from the candidates. There should not be any gathering of crowd at any place. RTO enforcement officer Sanjeev Gupta, ARTO administration Rajiv Chaturvedi, bus union president Ramakant Dwivedi etc. were present in the meeting.
