Neeraj Chopra’s brand value soars; Manu Bhaker and Vinesh Phogat’s too after 2024 Olympics – Check the valuation and other details here | Other Sports News

The success of Indian athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics is set to significantly boost their brand value, with javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and shooter Manu Bhaker seeing the most substantial increases. Both athletes, now proud owners of two Olympic medals each, are seeing their market value soar as a result of their impressive performances.

Neeraj Chopra, who won a silver medal in javelin throw at Paris 2024, is on the cusp of surpassing many of India’s top cricketers in terms of brand valuation. Before the Olympics, Neeraj’s brand value was estimated at $29.6 million (roughly Rs. 246 crore), which was comparable to that of Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. However, post his success in Paris, Neeraj’s valuation is expected to cross $40 million (roughly Rs. 330 crore). This rise is largely due to his consistent performances on the global stage, cementing his status as one of India’s most marketable sports figures.

Manu Bhaker, who became India’s breakout star at the Paris Olympics, is also seeing a significant rise in his brand value. At just 22, Bhaker bagged two bronze medals and came close to a third, finishing fourth in his category. His impressive performance has caught the attention of leading brands and he recently signed a lucrative endorsement deal with ThumsUp worth Rs 150 crore. This deal marks a significant step forward for Bhaker, signalling his rise as a marketable athlete in India.

Another athlete whose brand value is on the rise despite not having won any medals is wrestler Vinesh Phogat. Considered by many to be India’s best athlete at the Paris Olympics, Vinesh’s value has been steadily rising. His endorsement fee has reportedly gone up from Rs 25 lakh per contract per year to about Rs 1 crore. This increase reflects his growing influence and the recognition of his exceptional talent and determination on the international stage.

Overall, the Paris 2024 Olympics have proven to be a turning point for Indian athletes, whose achievements have translated into significant financial gains. As they continue to excel in their respective sports, their brand value is likely to continue to rise, attracting more sponsorships and cementing their status as some of the country’s most marketable athletes.
