KIA Clavis: KIA has made all preparations to compete with Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter and will soon introduce the SUV called Clavis in the Indian market. Spy shots of the Clavis have surfaced during testing, which show this fully covered SUV.
KIA Clavis: exterior
The spy images reveal that it has a flat front face with capsule-style headlamps flanked by sleek vertical LED DRLs and a muscular front bumper with large air intakes.
What enhances its presence is the clamshell bonnet. The side profile is squared off with a flat roofline with high pillars and rails. The squared and flared wheel arches are filled with machine-cut dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets a flat tailgate, with L-shaped LED DRLs along the D-pillar and reflectors on the bumper.
KIA Clavis: interior
This is the first time we’ve seen the interior of the Kia Clavis, which features a flat-bottomed, two-spoke multifunction steering wheel. It has the same dual-screen setup on the dashboard as the Sonet and Seltos. We expect it to get features like LED lighting, an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, automatic wipers, smartphone connectivity and a premium audio system.

Contrary to what was reported earlier, Kia will position the Clavis above the Sonet and not below it. Hence, it is likely to be priced higher than the Sonet. Hence, it can be concluded that the upcoming SUV will not compete with cars like Tata Punch and Hyundai Xcent. Hence, we can expect the starting price of Clavis to be around Rs 9,00 to 10,000 lakh (ex-showroom).
Like the Sonet and Seltos, we expect the Clavis to be offered with multiple powertrain options, including turbocharged and naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines. Transmission options will include manual and automatic gearboxes.
