Delhi University to announce vacant seats for second round of undergraduate admissions today

DU UG Admission 2024: Delhi University will release the list of vacant seats for the second round of undergraduate admissions (DU UG Admissions 2024) today, August 22. The seat list will be displayed on the CSAS portal: admission.uod.ac.in.

As per the university’s admission calendar, the first round ended on August 21. Once the list of vacant seats is released, candidates can re-rank their highest preferences from 5:00 pm on August 22 to 4:59 pm on August 23.

The results of the second round of seat allotment will be announced on August 25 and candidates must accept the allotted seat by August 27. Universities will verify and approve the admissions by August 29 and the last date for fee payment is August 30.

As per the information shared by the university, there are around 71,600 undergraduate seats in DU colleges. The allotment of seats in the first round is 36 per cent higher than the total seats as the university aims to fill the seats optimally to commence the academic session on August 29.

“In the first round of allocation, the University has decided to make additional allocations to optimally fill the seats so that the Academic Session can commence on 29 August 2024. In total, 97,387 allocations have been made in the First Round. This excludes the allocation to performance-based programmes and supernumerary quotas of CW, ECA, Sports and Neighbourhood, and Christian candidates,” the university said in a statement.

Candidates had the option to choose from 1,559 program and faculty combinations for undergraduate admissions.

In the first phase of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for undergraduate courses, 245,287 applications were submitted for admission, of which 185,543 submitted their preferences. The university received 1,721,8187 preferences in the first round of admissions.
