Maharashtra Public Service Commission postponed preliminary exam, date clashed with IBPS clerk exam, Career News

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission, giving a major relief to the candidates, has decided to postpone the MPSC preliminary exam scheduled on August 25. The Commission took this decision in view of the IBPS Clerk preliminary exam being held on the same day. Due to the clash of dates of both the recruitment exams, for the past few days, candidates preparing for Banking and MPSC recruitment exams were demanding the Commission to postpone and reschedule the pre-exam. They were continuously protesting in Pune over their demand. The IBPS Clerk recruitment exam is scheduled to be held on August 24, 25 and 31.

The protesting students are also demanding that vacancies for agriculture-related posts be included in the MPSC preliminary examination. Also, the examination schedule for recruitment to non-gazetted posts in various government departments should be announced at the earliest.

Earlier, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis had tweeted on social media platform X that the dates of IBPS and MPSC preliminary exams clash. Both are on August 25. While 285 posts of Agriculture Department have not been included in the state service preliminary exam. He said, ‘Due to both the reasons, there is a huge dissatisfaction among the students. In such a situation, I request the Chairman, Maharashtra Public Service Commission to take positive steps in this regard.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar also supported the protesting candidates in Pune demanding postponement of the MPSC preliminary examination and warned that if the government does not clarify its stand, he too will join the protest. NCP MLA Rohit Pawar had also joined the movement and was sitting with the protesting candidates.
