Delhi University has released the list of 6,100 vacant seats for the second round of undergraduate admissions after the first round of admissions is over. The vacant seats are displayed on the candidate dashboard. With 91.98 per cent (65,843) seats already filled, candidates were given the opportunity to reset their preferences (colleges and courses) from August 22-23. The university intends to start the academic session from August 29. In the first round, 65,843 candidates confirmed their admission to undergraduate courses at Delhi University. The total number of undergraduate seats in DU colleges is around 71,600.

Despite having 71,600 seats, the DU had allotted 97,387 seats. DU claims that a total of 83,678 students accepted the allotment during the first counselling session.

As per records, 2,45,287 candidates had applied for Stage I of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS (UG)), out of which 1,85,543 applicants completed Stage II by giving their preferences for the combination of university courses. The university received a total of 1,72,18,187 preferences.

Admission begins on NCWeb

The Non-University Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) released the first cutoff on Thursday. The highest cutoff for BA-B.Com programme was 88 per cent by Miranda House. Admissions have begun from today, Friday. In the cutoff released by DU, Miranda House College has reduced the B.Com programme by one per cent compared to last year. Last year this cutoff was 89 per cent. The cutoff in History and Political Science in the Bachelor’s programme for the general category is also 88 per cent while last year it was 91 per cent. Almost all the colleges have reduced the cutoff this year compared to last year.

NCWeb’s two undergraduate programmes, BA and BCom, offer admission to around 15,000 seats across 26 colleges of Delhi University. The total number of seats in the BA programme is 9230 and in BCom it is 5980. DU has clarified that if any candidate joins by giving incorrect details, he/she will be deregistered. If found so after completing the course, his/her degree will be cancelled and appropriate legal action will be taken against him/her.
