‘I still get emotional’: Indian PM Leggie struggles to come to terms with Shane Warne’s absence

Shane Warne’s untimely demise shocked the entire world in 2022. From cricketers to fans and every individual who saw Warne display his magic with the ball even once, went into deep mourning. Time will pass, but Warne’s impact on the game will last forever. Indian leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is the testimony to that.

Kuldeep Yadav says he still gets emotional over Shane Warne

Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has revealed that the death of Australian legend Shane Warne two years ago made him feel like he had lost a member of his family as he always believed there was a strong connection between them. Kuldeep, who is on a short family trip to Australia, visited the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the home ground of his “idol”, where he posed for a picture with Warne’s statue outside the stadium.

“Shane Warne was my idol and I had a very strong connection with him. I still get emotional when I think of Warnie. I feel like I have lost someone from my family,” Kuldeep said.

However, she did not elaborate on her relationship with the legend, who died of cardiac arrest while on holiday in Thailand in 2022.

Kuldeep Yadav on India vs Australia’s upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy match

He T20 World Cup The cricket winner’s trip Down Under comes just months before the Border Gavaskar Trophy, which is scheduled to begin on November 22 in Perth.

“I am looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and we are anticipating a great cricket match between Australia and India this year,” he said.

Kuldeep, who has had a great couple of years since returning from his knee injury, also visited the Cricket Australia (CA) headquarters and had an online interaction with CEO Nick Hockley.

He also acknowledged the unwavering support of Indian cricket fans. “Indian cricket fans always support the team across the world and I am confident that they will come out in large numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially during the Boxing Day Test,” Kuldeep said.

The MCG will host the Boxing Day Test from 26 December.
