Patna University included in NIRF ranking list for the first time

Bihar Institutions in NIRF Ranking 2024: Patna University, the foremost university in Bihar, is very famous all over Bihar due to its quality of teaching. In the NIRF Ranking 2024 list released by the Union Ministry of Education, Patna University is the only one in Bihar, which has been recognized as a state-run public university, which has got a place in the National Institutional Framework Ranking (NIRF) list in the universities category. Apart from this, no other public university in the state is included in this list.

Let us tell you that for the first time, 151 colleges and 61 institutions from Bihar participated in the NIRF ranking 2024. In the list of university categories, Patna Women’s College was ranked 101-151 and became the only college from Bihar which is in the list of top 300 colleges could be included. Apart from this, no college from Bihar is included in the ranking. Talking about the top law colleges, Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna has for the first time ever been ranked 31st in the NIRF ranking list for law colleges. In the management category, IIM, Bodh Gaya has secured 33rd position in the management category list.

Bihar institutions in NIRF 2024 rankings: Two central universities included in overall top 100.

Only two central universities from Bihar could make it to the list of top 100 institutions in the NIRF Rankings 2024. One of them is IIT, Patna, which is ranked 73rd with a score of 51.24. It is ranked 34th in the list of engineering institutes, while All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the second central university in Bihar, is ranked 99th with a score of 47.55. It is ranked 26th in the category of top medical institutions. Apart from this, no other medical or engineering institute from Bihar is included in the top 100 in its respective category.

Most of the institutions in Bihar could not be included in the NIRF rankings.

Talking about agricultural universities, Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Samastipur, was ranked 151-200 in the overall category and this institute is ranked 29th among the top agricultural universities in the country. Most of the institutes in Bihar do not participate in the NIRF ranking. The reasons include problems caused by lack of infrastructure and shortage of teachers, besides delays in the academic session and poor response from students.
