Nepal bus tragedy: 14 dead when Indian bus with 40 people on board sinks in Marsyangdi river

Kathmandu: Fourteen people died when an Indian passenger bus with 40 people on board sank in the marsyangdi river in Tanahun district.

The bus with registration number UP FT 7623 sank in the river and is located on the riverbank.

The bus was travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu at the time of the accident.

Regarding the incident in Nepal, the Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner said: “We are making contact to find out if anyone from the state is involved in this.”

“SDM Maharajganj is being sent to Nepal and ADM Maharajganj to coordinate,” he said.

The Nepal Army statement said: “A Nepal Army MI-17 helicopter carrying a medical team flew to the incident site in Tanahun district from the helipad of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.”
