The five-day Shri Krishna Janmotsav will begin on Saturday at Shri Krishna’s birthplace in Mathura.

Various birth anniversary programmes of Lord Krishna at the birthplace of Shri Krishna in Mathura will begin from Saturday and will continue till Thursday next week. Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Samiti Secretary Kapil Sharma and member Gopeshwar Chaturvedi have provided this information. He said that this time the programmes related to the Janmashtami festival will be organised with the resolve to attain the former glory and form of the birthplace of Shri Krishna. He said that Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna at the birthplace of Yogeshwar Shri Krishna, will be celebrated on Monday (26th August 2024) as per classical norms and traditions.

All preparations and arrangements are being ensured to make the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna grand and divine. In such a situation, every effort is made to make the composition, attire, decorations and arrangements of the temple of God spectacular. Gopeshwar Chaturvedi said that as per the public sentiments, this time the resolution of the birth anniversary will be to attain the former glory and form of the birth place of Shri Krishna. The official said that this is the period when the people of Mathura and millions of devotees of Lord Shri Krishna spread across the world have only one wish in mind: just as the resolution of the grand and divine temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya has been fulfilled, it has been consecrated. Similarly, by constructing a grand temple of Lord Shri Krishna at its original place in Mathura, his grand statue should be consecrated there.

He has appealed to the devotees that the district administration has made arrangements for shoe sheds and luggage sheds on all the connecting routes of the Janmabhoomi, so they should leave their shoes, slippers, bags etc. at the place of stay, because they will enter the birthplace of Shri Krishna on Monday from the North Gate located at Govind Nagar and the exit will be from the East Gate i.e. the main gate. The official said that for the convenience of the devotees, medical camps and lost and found camps will also be arranged around the temple and at the main places.

The decorations will be amazing.
The decorations and arrangements on this special occasion will be unprecedented. The decoration of the sanctum sanctorum and Krishna Chabutara, famous as the Kansa prison, the centre of faith of the village, will be such that it will give the devotees the experience of Kansa prison during the Dwapar period, all possible efforts are being made for this. Krishna Chabutra and the sanctum sanctorum are being decorated like a prison using various materials by special artisans.

Leelas will be organised from Saturday (August 24) to August 28, 2024 at the sacred stage of Shri Krishna’s birthplace. This five-day Shri Krishna Leela will be held daily from 7 pm to 11 pm.
