What is Bihar Udyami Yojana 2024?

The Bihar government has launched a major scheme, Bihar Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, to encourage startups in the state. It is also known as the Chief Minister’s Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Extremely Backward Class/Women/Minority Youth Entrepreneurs Scheme. Under this scheme, beneficiaries get a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh, which also includes a subsidy of 50% i.e. Rs 5 lakh.

Bihar Udyami Yojana 2024 Selection Process

Like last year, this time the beneficiaries are likely to be selected through a random lottery system. The applications approved in the selection process are screened, after which they are sent to the District Industries Centre Manager for physical verification. The selected candidates will be provided with two weeks of training after completing the selection process within 15 days. After this, the first installment amount will be sanctioned on the basis of the DPR of their projects, which will be given in three easy installments. An amount of Rs 25,000 per unit is also given to the candidates selected for training.

Benefits of Bihar Udyami Yojana 2024

Under this scheme, benefits will be provided only for the establishment of new industries. In addition, the benefit of Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy 2016 is also available. Under this scheme, a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh is provided to the beneficiaries, which also includes a grant/subsidy of up to 50% of the sanctioned amount i.e. Rs 5 lakh. The facility has been given to repay this amount in 84 equal instalments over 7 years.
