Actress Sanya Malhotra She recently stole hearts on the Internet and not because she just received a standing ovation for her latest film, Lady at the 15th edition of the Melbourne Indian Film Festival. This time, her outfit choice on the grand platform was sweet enough to melt a dozen hearts across the city.

Sanya didn’t wear any designer labels at the premiere as the actress was more than happy to give her mother her moment to shine. For the special occasion, Sanya chose to wear a dress Banarasi Deep purple jacquard kurta with floral motifs, all designed by her mother, Renu Malhotra.

Her special note to mother Renu read: “Mom always told me that she dreamed of studying fashionbut it wasn’t economically viable at the time. Instead, she put all her creativity into dressing us beautifully, so much so that I still ask her for advice before any big event.”
“I wanted to honour you by wearing one of your creations at the Melbourne Indian Film Festival for the screening of a film close to my heart, ma’am,” he continued.
Sanya paired the ensemble with statement jewellery like a headband and jhumkas. The actress opted for a rosy make-up look, sporting rosy cheeks and a bright burgundy lipstick. Her hair was tied back in a sleek, centre-parted bun to give her outfit a special touch.
