Jhalawar: A serious accident was almost averted due to the negligence of a bus driver in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The ‘stubborn’ driver of a private bus landed the bus in the strong water current of a culvert constructed on the Ahu river near Our city. The passengers of the bus kept asking the driver not to let it fall into the culvert, but the driver did not listen to anyone and threw the bus into the strong water current. The bus moved a little further and got stuck in the middle.

In fact, despite the river flooding, the driver drove the bus into the sewer, after which the bus got stuck in the middle of the stream. Fortunately, the nearby villagers pulled the bus out with the help of a tractor and all the passengers were saved safe and sound.

The incident took place on Friday at the Ahu river near Awar town in Jhalawar district. Due to rain, the river was swollen and water was flowing into the culvert. Locals said they advised the driver not to cross the culvert but he did not listen and drove the bus into the culvert. The result was that the bus engine stopped in the middle of the stream and the bus got stuck.

There were screams among the passengers as the bus got stuck.

As soon as the bus got stuck, screams were heard among the passengers. Everyone started running back and forth in the bus to save their lives. But seeing the strong flow of water, no one got off the bus. Meanwhile, some villagers showed courage and immediately called for a tractor and pulled the bus out with the help of a rope. According to eyewitnesses, the bus remained stuck in the water for about half an hour. During this time, more than two feet of water was flowing down the drain.

Despite refusal, driver landed bus on bridge: police

Pagaria Police Station Officer Rajpal Singh said, ‘Japta was forced to stop at the Ahu River Bridge on Our Pagaria Road, despite the refusal of the driver, the bus fell on the bridge. Eventually, locals pulled out the bus with the help of a tractor, otherwise a serious accident could have occurred.
