The Union Public Service Commission has invited applications for the posts of Deputy Superintending Archaeologist and Cabin Safety Inspector. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. The last date for submitting applications for the posts is up to September 5, 2024.

Vacancy details

  • Deputy Superintendent Archaeologist: 67 positions
  • Cabin Safety Inspector: 15 positions

Eligibility criteria

  • Deputy Superintendent Archaeologist: Master of Arts in Archaeology or Master of Arts in Indian History (with Ancient Indian History or Medieval Indian History as subject or article) or Master of Arts in Anthropology (with Stone Age Archaeology as subject or article) or Master of Arts in Geology (with Pleistocene Geology as subject or article) from a recognized University or Institute, and (ii) Post Graduate or Advanced Diploma in Archaeology of a duration of at least one year from a recognized University or Institute or Field experience of at least three years in Archaeology.
  • Cabin Safety Inspector: Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board.

Application fee

Candidates will be required to pay a fee of 25/- as application fee. The fee can be paid by remitting the money in cash to any SBI branch or by using net banking facility of any bank or by Visa/Master/Rupay/Credit/Debit/UPI card payment. Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.

Other details

The minimum eligibility for category-wise interviews, irrespective of whether selection is made through interview only or through recruitment test followed by interview, shall be UR/EWS-50 marks, OBC-45 marks, SC/ST/PwBD-40 marks, out of a total of 100 interview marks.
