Maharashtra News: A teacher and seven others were arrested for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old student at a private school in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune. Following a complaint lodged by the girl’s family at the Nigdi police station, the police arrested the accused on Friday. It said that the teacher (PT teacher) had already gone to jail on charges of sexual abuse but after his release, the school had re-employed him. According to the complaint, the teacher was allegedly sexually harassing the student for the past two years.
Case registered under POCSO
The accused has been booked under various sections of the Indian Code of Judicial Procedure (BNS) and other relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Others arrested include the school principal, some trustees and board members.
Two people arrested for raping a teenager in Palghar
In Maharashtra’s Palghar district, police arrested two persons for raping a 17-year-old girl. An officer from the Tulinj police station said the girl, a resident of Mumbai, used to go to Nalasopara to meet a friend of hers and during that time she met Sonu, who works at a studio in the area. Sonu and his friend called the girl on Friday to go out somewhere and took her in their car to a secluded place where they both raped her. The girl’s parents lodged a police complaint after getting information about this incident. The Tulinj police on Friday registered a case under the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested both the accused.
