Due to the collapse of Bind Toli dam in Gopalpur block, water has spread across many villages. The situation is becoming more alarming due to the continuous rise in the water level of Ganga. The NDRF team is rescuing people trapped in the flood water and taking them to higher places. Two NDRF teams with around 60 personnel are deployed at different places. So far, the team has rescued around 500 people. The rescue work is being carried out by the administration. The Patna NDRF team is deployed in Ganga under the leadership of Major Bhavesh Jha Bhuvan. The Ganga water is continuously spreading. Now many villages in Gopalpur have been affected by this. After the breach of the Ismailpur Gopalpur Bind Toli dam on August 20, water is spreading across the block. So far it is spreading in Gopalpur village, some parts of Saidpur, around Abhiya village, areas around Gorihari and Lattipakad. Water has entered the primary health sub-centre of the Health and Wellness Centre in Lattipakad. Sanitary workers reached the hospital with water up to their knees. If the water level rises further, the hospital may have to be shifted to a higher place. When the Primary Health Sub-centre staff, Amrej Raj, Health Centre staff, Anita Kumari ANM, Nurse Pooja Sinha, Roma Kumari and many other staff reached the Health and Wellness Centre in the morning, they saw that water had entered there. They have kept medicines and other items at a high place. SDO informed that spur number nine has been strengthened.

Navgachia. The sub-divisional officer said that spur number nine has been strengthened. Information was received at the level of public representatives that near spur number nine erosion is taking place. We told the public representatives to reach the erosion spot and explain to the people not to be afraid. Information was provided to the Water Resources Department in this regard. The Water Resources Department sent sandbags in two big boats. There the work was carried out immediately after the flood fighting. The situation is now under control. We are all working together. It will be seen later which engineer was negligent and action will be taken after the investigation. We are trying to restore the damage that has been done. At the place where the embankment was cut, both the banks were strengthened. The villagers living in the lower area of the embankment were asked not to construct any kind of structure on the embankment. The administration will ensure that the embankment is free from encroachment.
