He said: “It’s me you’re looking for.” The suspect, according to BILD sources, has been hiding in a backyard since the incident.

The alleged perpetrator is Issa Al-H., a 26-year-old Syrian citizen who, after travelling to Germany in 2022, sought asylum in Bielefeld. Due to the ongoing civil conflict in Syria, he was granted subsidiary protection in Germany. According to sources from The Spiegel, he has not yet been classified as an Islamic extremist.
