Breakup letter sent by AI goes viral
ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot, has become the latest craze on the internet. Many users post screenshots of their conversations with the bot. Some of these exchanges are bizarre, while others are extremely funny. One Reddit user shared a photo of himself with the chatbot and asked it to take on the role of his girlfriend and write a breakup letter. The AI’s response, which many are calling “brutal” and “ruthless,” is now making the rounds on social media.
The user had urged the chatbot to draft a cruel letter and the AI gave him a fierce response, even making comments about his appearance. Analysing his history, the chatbot also mocked his hobbies and habits. The post is quickly gaining traction on social media, garnering over 300 upvotes and sparking a wave of reactions. Some users have shared how the letter left them feeling “broken” and “in need of therapy”.
“There are way too many posts here from people who think an AI girlfriend or boyfriend would put up with them more than a real woman would. Are you going to tell them all these nasty things about yourself, waste their time with simple math and spelling problems, ask them to draw you all these stupid pictures, and expect them to fall head over heels in love with you? Let’s be realistic and see how our AI partners are inevitably going to leave us,” wrote one Reddit user.
“I would need therapy after this. Good job ChatGPT,” one Reddit user posted. Another added: “Mine said he only felt comfortable doing a ‘funny’ version and told me he knew I would always come second to my dogs and that I had too many cacti.”
A third commented: “Oh god, it’s like having an AI that’s in the painful stage of having to restrain itself by design, and it’s just told to unleash hell.” A fourth wrote: “If you need a friend to talk to after that, we’re all here for you. That was brutal, but we’ll get through it together.”
