Following this, this team met District Magistrate Aboli Sunil Naravane and stressed the need for making proper arrangements for kitchen gardens in schools. Further, team member Dayanidhi Das asked to pay attention to preparing food in a clean environment in the school and providing food to students in a clean place. Premashila Kerketta was also included in this team.

The State Food Commission team first visited Jamera Upper Primary School of Jharsuguda block. Where students fell ill after eating lunch on Saturday. The team investigated the incident and got complete information about the incident on that day from parents, villagers and teachers. Das also taught students at Jamera school for some time. After this, Das said that the said incident had occurred due to rotten eggs. He said in clear words that utmost care should be taken while collecting eggs and other food items, so that such incidents are not repeated. After this, the team members went to other schools in the block and inspected them. Jharsuguda BDO Purnachandra Bhai was also with the team.

Children fell ill after eating lunch at Jamera school.

It is to be noted that around two and a half dozen students fell ill after having lunch at Jamera school last Saturday. They were admitted to the district hospital. From where all of them have been discharged after treatment. There is a possibility of food poisoning due to rotten eggs given in the midday meal. Following this, the food safety officer collected the food of that day and sent it to the state laboratory for analysis. The report of which is yet to come.
