Prashant Kishor’s big announcement: Jan Suraaj to fight on 243 seats in 2025

Prashant Kishor, a political strategist-turned-activist, on Sunday announced that his ‘Jan Suraaj’ will fight the Bihar assembly elections in 2025 and will field candidates in 243 seats.

A few weeks ago, Kishor announced that on October 2Coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, the Jan Suraaj campaign will be converted into a political party and will contest the Bihar assembly elections next year.

“Until women are economically independent, they cannot get equality. Women should be given 4 per cent loans to earn a living. They should be given with government guarantee,” Kishor was quoted as saying by PTI.

Kishor said that once his government is formed, people will not have to migrate from Bihar due to low incomes.

“I urge people to vote not only by looking at the sons or daughters of the leaders, but by looking at their sons and daughters,” he added.

How will Jan Suraaj take shape?

Jan Suraaj will have 25 members Central Committee.

— Membership will have representation from the general category, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), Scheduled Castes and Minorities.

Prashant Kishor’s hit on Nitish Kumar

Earlier this month, Kishor accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar failing to deliver tangible benefits for the state despite the BJP being dependent on it to retain power at the Centre.

“People are talking about special status for Bihar. I wonder why Nitish Kumar could not push for the revival of 20 sugar factories which have been in decline for years. He has been in power for nearly 20 years, which will be remembered for wasted opportunities,” the IPAC founder told reporters here.
