Delhi’s street food scene is known for its vibrant and innovative dishes, with momo being one of the most loved snacks. Over the years, this dumpling of Tibetan origin has undergone several transformations, from steamed to fried, tandoori and even gravy. However, a new variety has emerged that has left food enthusiasts intrigued and horrified at the same time: paneer momo with nuts.
A video is circulating on social media in which a food vlogger comes across a street vendor in Delhi offering this unusual take on the traditional momo. The video begins with the vlogger presenting the vendor with a plate full of nuts, including almonds, cashews, pistachios and raisins. He then asks the vendor, “if I could make momos out of that.” The vendor confidently agrees and promises to make the best momo.

The vendor starts by melting butter in a pan and frying all the nuts. Then he adds chopped onion, carrot and bell pepper, sautéing them briefly before adding a generous amount of mayonnaise and liquid cheese. But the innovation doesn’t end there.
To give the dish an extra special touch, the vendor adds cream and oregano to the mix and finally adds fried momos. The dish is then garnished with finely chopped almonds before being served to the vlogger. The signature dry fruit paneer momo is priced at a hefty Rs 240 per plate.
While some people may appreciate the creativity behind this dish, the reaction on the internet has been largely negative, with many expressing their displeasure at the combination of ingredients. The video has sparked a debate about how far food fusion should go, especially when it comes to such beloved street food classics. And people in the comments section shared their thoughts on the matter.
