Bengaluru: Hours later Kannada actor DarshanA photo emerged showing him smoking and laughing inside. bangalore jailNow a video has surfaced in which he is allegedly seen talking to his closest aide from inside the prison. He was arrested Missouri in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy in June and is currently lodged in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara jail.
In these pictures, the Kannada actor can be seen holding a cup in one hand and a cigarette in the other. One of the men (wearing a black T-shirt) is sitting next to him Darshan is a historian from Wilson Garden Naga. The photographs were taken by an inmate, raising concerns about security at the jail. After the image went viral, the prison department summoned senior officials at the prison.
After the development was covered in the news, Additional Inspector General of Prisons Anand Reddy has initiated an inquiry into the matter and a preliminary investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, reacting to this, Darshan’s father said that jail should be jail and his son should be treated like any normal prisoner.
“Jail should be a jail and should not be turned into something else, he should be like a normal prisoner, when my friends showed me the picture of him relaxing with four people sitting on chairs with tea and a cigarette in his hand, it feels like he is in a guest house or a resort,” said his father, Kashinatha Shivanagowdara.
“When we met with the CM, he assured that the police are given a free hand and justice will be done,” he added.
